Things to do on your camping holiday
If this is your first visit to Slovakia, you're in for a nice surprise. Beautiful nature, sleepy little villages with a 'communist feeling', folk festivals, castle ruins, historical cities, the peaceful countryside. So here, in no particular order are some of our top things to do!
Walk the Lazy paths - There are many walks starting from the campsite and some are also suitable for families. No matter which walk you choose, it’s guaranteed to make you discover the beautiful nature of the Krupinská planina (Krupina plain), you will always be rewarded with nice views and often with plenty of wildlife.
Explore Banska Stiavnica, it is a very beautiful historical town with many things to offer to it's visitors! It has many churches and two magnificent castles. You do not need public transport as everything is relatively close. And you should definitely try and find out more about the mines in this town as it used to be a silver mining town. There’s also a handful of nice pubs and restaurants. Banska Stiavnica is 45 km from the campsite. More.

Visit the Hontianska paráda festival in Hrušov during the 3rd weekend of August. Smiling women in bonnets, their long skirts cutting the air with a swish as they move gracefully in unison. Colourfully attired men, performing dances that express power and strength. For fanciers of performance folk art, Hrusov offers invaluable opportunities to experience the cultural traditions and traditional agricultural demonstrations, food preparation and tasting, as well as crafts of an area that has been occupied continuously for some 2,500 years. More.
Take a stroll around the farm. We have about 21-acres to explore and many animals to meet. It’s a real haven for nature, undisturbed, somewhat wild and good place for quiet contemplation.
Hike up to the ruin of castle Čabraď - Today, the ruins are one of the country's least accessible, but for those who hike through the Krupinská planina (Krupina plain) forest to the castle, which now sits in Slovakia's biggest national protected area for snakes and other reptiles, the view of the still-sturdy fortifications rearing up from the wild vegetation is unforgettable. Relax and unwind, enjoy the campsite, a cosy camp fire, a good book, family, friends, the big sky, the peace and the quiet. This is the essence of Farm & Camping Lazy. The pace of life here is slow and things just naturally take their course. When the sun shining and all is settled, I can’t think of anywhere else I’d rather be.
Further Information - On our campsite we give you information on recommended activity providers, places to eat, things to do and places of interest. If we haven't listed an activity you are interested in, please just ask us and we'll find out about it for you and let you know what's available.
